Oushak is available in seventeen earth-toned, vegetable- dye inspired corlorways.
Oushak rugs, which originated in the 15th century in Western Turkey, inspire the name of this beautiful chenille fabric. These rugs are known for their knotted surface and distinctive time-worn intense coloring, and this fabric embodies those characteristics with a textural surface that resembles little knows, and a dying technique that looks stried with variations in tone within the colorway.
With its dense and very stable weave, Oushak doesn’t need to be backed. The soft hand and lushness of Oushak makes this brillant fabric an exceptional selection suitable for comfy sofas and style of upholstered chair.
Another notable aspect of Oushak is that the fabric is close to fifty pourcent undyed jute which is about the most sustainable fiber available. It is 100% biodegradable, recyclable, uses a very little water processing and when woven into fabric, will last a lifetime.
